Bella's Birthday party was a huge success!! She had a blast, we all had a blast!
I'll try to lot the images from the party over the next few days. Bella was so excited to see so many of the people she loves come by and celebrate her becoming a teenager (heehee, well, she still acts like one).
This is the grand queen with some of her booty, we really never expected anyone to bring gifts we were just excited that so many wanted to celebrate with us. Of course, little Miss. Princess here didn't complain at all, she made out like a bandit!

So as we dive ever deeper into the dark and mysterious OOna evil mastermind's murky past we have found clues that at one point she was in league with the somewhat famous Dastardly Dan but had decide to strike out on her own because of his many unforgivable mishaps. We have also uncovered evidence (with great personal risk, i might add) that she may have had a paw in the disastrous "Kill the Rabbit" campaign of the 1950's with the bumbling Mr. Fudd. Although it is also rumored that she saved face somewhat by exposing this horrid event by being a paid advisor on the now famous "What's Opera, Doc?" (of course, making Fudd the complete baddy-bad and leaving out her own evil actions in the whole affair & Bugs mysteriously going along with this willingly....hmmmmmmmm, veeeeerrrry interesting)

Time will only tell what other evilness we may uncover by trying to understand what makes this great evil mastermind genius tick. We understand the great risk that we three face by horboring such an evil masterind and that with her OOna mindmelt we too could become a minion in her quest to TAKE OVER THE WORLD!!! WAHAHAHAHAHAHAH...ahhhh oh sorry, slipped there....oh no she getting to me...save yourself...run, hide before it's to late...we...will...try...to...contain...her.......help...

The countdown is up & running and we're all running around like chicken little and friends. Looks like we'll be right up against the wire getting everything ready for her big day but i think (hope may be more like it...ARE WE FREAKING CRAZY) we'll be ready in time. The backyard still isn't completely done and we start prep work on the food tonight. As you can tell, cool as a cucumber Bella is relax and kicked back thinking (like always) that her silly humans have gone off the deep end.

Bella and her after bath cream on her bedroom bed. Yes, she has her own bed for the times when she doesn't to sleep with us (it's the same heigth as our bed). The grey covered part is a folded over twin futon and the pick part is an 'Urban Sprawl' dog bed (one of the best out there, if you've not heard of it) and another dog bed inbetween covered with a quilt. Our friend Randy (who he and his partener Patrick just resued a bull-terrrier, YAY!! they'll be great parents!) doesn't call Bella spoiled, he calls her fortunate.

I smile, because really, we are the fortunate ones, not her. Thank you my love.

So you see, we were getting ready to head out the door just the other day and Gwen grabbed the door knob which came off in her hand. Hmmmmm...yes we thought this was strange, but hey we live in an old (20's) house and something like this isn't all together unusual. Scott grabbed his tools to fix it, but there were no screws, hmmmm...even stranger. So while Scott was looking for screws, Gwen decided to go out another door to check the mail...the same thing happen(the door knob came off)....stranger still...we go check the last outside door and yes you guess it THE FREAKING DOOR KNOB FALLS OFF THIS DOOR TOO!!!!!!!!!!

So after we both stop screaming (October-Halloween-Evil Mastermind OOna Kitty In The House, you would scream too), Bella slaps us and does her weime point thing at OOna (Evil Mastermind).
THIS IS WHAT WE SAW!! This is also when we realized there was evil laughing in the air (hey, when you live with evil laughing everyday, you tend to not notice it). Luckily Scott had the camera in his hand and was able to click this photo (look closely, you can see the screws, how she got them out remains a mystery).

Now not all Halloweens go off completely as you originally plan them to. I would guess it probably has something to do with the whole spooky ghost thing or maybe it’s just the perfect time for crazy, silly things to just happen, I don’t know. What I do know is that for us “The Great Pumpkin Incident” (we tend to name our great catastrophes, it gives them a nice kind of ring) made us both swear off anything to do with all things pumpkin. Pumpkin pie, pumpkin cake, pumpkin carving, even pumpkin seeds! At least for a good 10 years or so.

Anyway the whole story all started one October after we had been together for a year or two. Oh, you know how it goes, punch drunk in love, willing to try anything, crazy little weime pup whose greatest joy in the world is to see just how much fun and destruction one little pup-pup can get herself into. Your typical everyday combo. This time our crazy idea of fun was to carve a pumpkin. Now mind you, we never do anything simple (don’t ask me why, guess that’s why Bella thinks we are so silly), we had decided that since it was one of our first Halloweens and we had this nut-head little wacky weime, why not carve a whole bunch of pumpkins. AT THE SAME TIME! Yeah, what a great idea, why just carve one simple little pumpkin when you can carve five medium size pumpkins even though neither one of us had ever carved just one. Yeah, great idea, brilliant, hey we were young, stupid and had a weimerenar, give us break.

So, we picked out our pumpkins with weime in toe and everything went pretty smoothly and you know we were thinking, “Man, this is going to great.” Well, we get our pumpkins home, spread newspaper all over our largest drafting table, give Bella a treat, grab some knives and get to carving. Now, you may already know by now but carving a bunch of pumpkins sounds like a whole lot of fun late the night before when you come up with the idea at 4am, but it’s a whole other thing when you’ve got the five pumpkins staring you in the face. It suddenly becomes this sticky, smelly, yucky-ucky orange horror movie seen, not to mention the fact that the treat didn’t entertain the weime. Yes, that’s right folks, we were sticky, sticking to newpaper, the table, floor, each other, the house was starting to smell, well, like pumpkin that is and it was everywhere, then the little purple nose decides she wants to help. I can’t how it all happen or even how exactly it all started but I think the true craziness began the Scott placing his sticky knife down on the table, slumped down in a chair, that’s when Bella grabbed a cutting open pumpkin and taking off running. Now it’s bad enough to try and catch a crazy weime when she has something normal that you want from her, but to try and catch a weime with a cut open, messy full of yucky stuff pumpkin in her mouth just adds a whole new meaning to the “Catch me if you can game”. So off she went, pumpkin in mouth (her nose now orange with pumpkin yuck going everywhere), we both screaming, running after her and slipping in the wake of her mess. Now Remember, Bella was a young pup of only two and faster than a whip and it doesn’t help out house that our house is a 1920’s bungalow with every room connecting to the next so it’s one big circle. Try catching a crazy pup when there’s no way to trap the little thief. Just so you get a good picture of the dog and her pumpkin, picture this; little Miss. Bella with running and leaping with legs in every direction and pumpkin stuff flying everywhere. We both gave chase (and yes, we know NOW!, the last thing you should do), Bella with her happy trot, her silly humans in pursuit sticking and sliding into everything. So this is where she gets too smart for our own damn good, as she circled back around to the room with the other pumpkins, us hot on her tail, she flings the pumpkin in her month sending it smashing into wall, turns quickly and jumps up on the drafting table with the other pumpkins.
Suffice to say, she ended up getting three of the pumpkins (yes, she’s that fast), knocked everything off the table, got pumpkin guts throughout the entire house and on every square inch of everything we owned at the time. All i can say is at times like that all you can do is start laughing with your dog.

Her looks are just magic to me, everytime i catch her watching one of us it just makes me smile and fills me up with everything that is right in the world.
So often she will give you one of these looks then turn her and grin at you with such a silliness that any worries you may of had are gone in an instant and she just knows that you can't resist walking over and nozzling, snoggling (it's a Bella technical term) her.

All the invites are in the mail, we actually dropped them in the mail this past weekend but just wanted to wait posting them so they could get mostly to there destinations first.
Yes, we are nuts, each card was hand made, hand cut, including the envelopes. Even the sticker is orginial (as it had to be with a silly girl like that). I guess you could call us old school, but we kind of figure, like everything we do, if we're going to the trouble it should be done by our own hand. Plus isn't nice to get something handmade in the mail instead of an email or something like that. Beside, this is for our little girl and we hope it's a special night that each guest will remember for a long time.

Ok, so maybe her tail isn't all that bushy (in fact it's rather tiny or rather just a nubb, but it's really cute), but she's definitely bright eyed and bushy tailed in the morning, loves the bed and man is she sweet. It's like all the sweet juices have risen to the surface while we slept. Don't get me wrong, the little princess is preatty darn sweet most all of the day, but man, in the morning she's a super, duper sweet little doll and a major lovebug.
It's like she's been sleeping all night dreaming of when she will wake up and get her loving. Either that or it's that she travels so far on her worldly adventures in her dreams, she's just so excited to be back home in her bed with her silly humans.

We repainted the front porch this past weekend and figure that the little weime would want to stay in the ac house instead of sweating her cute little tush off with us out in the heat. You'd think, after almost 13 year we would have learned by now that the velcro girl here would have to be right out in the middle of what we were doing. At first we just left her inside with music hoping she would just go to sleep, but no not this one. She starts barking and then (because the door is unlocked) she starts opening the front door (too darn smart for her own good sometimes), but won't go over the threshold (guess all that training way back when worked).
So we finally gave in (it's hard to paint a door when it keeps opening on you to a silly smiling, goofy weime) and let her come outon the front porch but you see how much help she is. I guess she being supervisor, heehee.
Anyway she finally figured out that what we were doing wasn't any fun (she hung with us for 2 hours though) and wanted to go back in, but she still wanted the door left open. So we turned the AC off (poor OOna), placed a fan on Bella (and OOna too, in her room), placed Bella's bed right at the front door and woorked on.

Our leader was finally happy. We, one the other hand all slept in a very hot house that night....

Wheeeewwww! We are still here!

No, really, don't let her fool you, the OOna evil mastermind does have a plan to take over and she's definitely working on it. How? How you ask could i know this evil secret plan (you mean, besides the evil 'Dastardly Dan' laugh we hear late, late at night). Well, let me tell you a story about our phone lines.

Over a week ago we woke up in the morning and our phone was dead. So of course we were like, "drat, now we have to get the phone company to find out what the problem is and fix it." Luckily we found the cell phone, though we notice that been place under the sofa along with a hammer, hmmmmmmm...well maybe we could had put it there....anyway, we shugged that off, called the phone company and they said they would check the line. Couple days later they got back to us (i know, quick service - not) and said the line was fine so they would need to check the connection to the house. Two more days go by and they say that the house connection is fine...curious, curious. So they say they can come out and check the phone and line inside - two more day later.
So the phone man finally shows up and starts checking the line (funny, but things just seem to drop into his way as he moves aruond the house...hmmmmmm). Anyway, he checks and checks and checks and everything seems fine with the line but still no dail tone and the phone is still good. So finally we start looking closely at the phone jack and notice that even though it appeared to be plugged into the wall, it really had been pull ever so gentle out but still left there like it might still be connected. Hmmmmmmmm...very cusious indeed....

SHE'S OUT TO GET US, HELP, HELP!!! Oh, wait i'm calm, i'm ok, OOna is great, yes, OOna is sweet, the OOna kitty would never do anything like that....

For as long as Bella's nails have had to be trimmed, it has been a battle that would put Alexander the great to shame.
She does not like her nails clipped so when the time is appond us the battle is on. And it's definitely a battle of wills, to say the least. Scott pretty much has to lay on top of her and try and pull out an arm so Gwen can grab a paw and clip. She is as strong as an ox and faster than a squirrel so the whole time she is jerking her arms away to hide them in her bed. It can be rather silly.

The usually super sweet Bella can put up a fight like you would not believe. She's still cute as a button though, even when she ain't happy with her silly humans.

You can see she's hiding her front feet, the back ones are done already.

A close-up of the sticker we made to go on the back of each invite envelope, of course, couldn't do anything without little miss. gorgeous here doing her thing.

We knew we wanted something a little different, to have her looking out at you when you flip the envelope over and well, the model knew just what to do. I guess when you are a natural at the modeling gig, it's easy to get the silly humans to take a fun picture of you.

We were sitting on the floor cutting and folding together the invites for her birthday bash (and of course, Bella was right there helping), then she decided to give her opinion of turning 13. She grabed one of the invites trotted over to her bed and proceeded to tear it apart with joy. heehee

Thirteen - spirnteen, she says 3 sounds more like it!

OOna went for her 2nd vet visit this past weekend, had to get her second set of shots. She weighted in at almost 4 pounds. Awwwwww, the little world conqueror is growing up. She was a perfect little angel until Dr. Adkins (not that Dr. Adkins - her vet) gave her the deworming pill. OOna kitty took one look at that pill and said that pill is the FREAKING SAME SIZE AS MY MOUTH!. Suffice to say, the OOna was not pleased with Dr. Adkins. Let's put it this way, when OOna takes over sweet Dr. Adkins might work on getting back on OOna good side. She insisted on being in Gwen's arms and make ludded faces back at poor Dr. Adkins. She made no noise when she got the shots or even when they took her temp (and you know where they stick that, but what's a dignified future conqueror to do but grin and bear it). It was just that freaking pill, you'd think they could make it smaller or different shape, what's a tiny kitty to do...
